The aim of this project is to control the position of ferro-fluid droplets and to investigate their equation of motion in the working space under the influence of magnetic repulsion. The droplets are placed into a strong magnetic field from a pair of Helmholtz coils and act like small magnets because of magnetic induction. By positioning permanent magnets near these droplets, their position on the plate can be changed. Open loop control of droplet position has been investigated and closed loop is in progress.
